As an 'all-rounder', the Yamaha YAS-62 is very hard to beat. A perfect up-grade from your student sax, or a great and versatile instrument for a professional player. This horn is at home in almost any context whether you wish to play classical, rock, jazz, funk or pop - it responds well right across the board.
Features include a new 62 neck which has a narrower bore for a more centred and controlled tone, and integrated key posts which add weight and solidity to the build and tone.
The brass body is left unlacquered and plated with a beautiful silver plating. The lack of lacquer does mean that cleaning with a silver cloth is required to maintain the finish, but the added layer of resonance from the precious metal gives more projection and a fantastic extra dimension to the sound. Note that the formation of patina on silver-plated saxophones imparts a lovely character to the instrument, and a visual transformation that many musicicans prefer as the instrument matures with time.
