Founded in 1994 and located in the Netherlands, this label is run by people who are passionate about music. The extensive catalogue offers a lot of chamber music, but also contains a number of excellent recordings of the ‘lied-repertoire' and symphonic music. The company is artist-driven, which means that the artist has a big say in the whole process. Challenge Classics works with artists like Ton Koopman, Jaap van Zweden, Christoph Prégardien, Isabelle van Keulen, La Petite Bande under the baton of Sigiswald Kuijken, Simone Lamsma, Liza Ferschtman, Jan Willem de Vriend, Hannes Minnaar and many others.
