To mark David Geringas's 80th birthday, we celebrate an artist whose music-making embodies precisely this truth: vibrant, immediate and of unmistakable intensity. For decades, as a cellist, conductor and musical narrator, he has touched generations of listeners. This edition honours not only an extraordinary life's work, but also an artistic approach in which music is constantly being created anew - in the moment, in the sound, in the expression. A gift to a great musician and to all who share in his art.
