About

The Modigliani Quartet begins a new recording venture with harmonia mundi: the first volume of the complete string quartets of Beethoven. Offsetting the young composer’s Op.18, Haydn’s last Op.77 Quartets show the line of inheritance – and of emulation – linking master and pupil. This four-way dialogue is marked by elegance, profundity and expressive freedom, from one of today’s greatest quartet ensembles.
