Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829) was a leading Italian guitar virtuoso and composer who helped popularize the guitar in Vienna during the early 19th century. This recording features Giuliani’s two Guitar Concertos and Rossini Variations for guitar and string quartet. Performed by guitarist Giulio Tampalini with the Orchestra da Camera “Ferruccio Busoni”, conducted by Massimo Belli.
