Cutting's fluent lyricism is outstanding in 'Waft her, angels' (a shining light on the single word 'rise') and Tiisler's ruminative baritone is touching in 'Mache dich, mein Herze', and they are equally skilled in coloratura...The band is sometimes oddly balanced (harpsichord too far back in Music for a While), but the vigour and stringy sound of the group is admirable.

Ensemble Floridante are supportive accompanists throughout, with a grainy, nutty quality to their sound that suits the German repertoire well. Sometimes in Handel we miss a certain Italianate attack and flourish, but there's lots here to enjoy.
