With SOLSTICE, guitarist Adam Cicchillitti and bandoneonist Denis Plante, joined by the Orchestre classique de Montréal under Jean-Marie Zeitouni, present a unique project: placing guitar and bandoneon at the heart of the symphony orchestra as fully integrated solo voices.

Conceived as a balance point, like a solstice, the album explores the meeting of Northern and Southern musical traditions. It brings into dialogue major Latin American works and contemporary Canadian creation, in a world shaped by dance rhythms, popular influences, and classical heritage. Several works appear in new orchestrations that reveal the full expressive richness of these instruments, rarely featured in a symphonic setting. Through SOLSTICE, the artists offer a strong, current vision: music of dialogue, migration, and transformation, where guitar and bandoneon become the centre of a vibrant, deeply human orchestral conversation.
