Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel, this special edition release features renowned pianist Idil Biret performing Ravel’s most iconic works, including Gaspard de la nuit, Le Tombeau de Couperin, La Valse, Une barque sur l’océan, and the Piano Concertos in G and D Major. Accompanied by the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra under Jean Fournet, Biret’s deep personal and artistic connection to Ravel’s music is brought vividly to life. The edition includes historical context, rare recordings, and reflections from Biret herself, tracing her journey from early studies in Paris to landmark performances and recordings. Notably, the LP with Gaspard de la nuit, praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, is highlighted alongside the orchestral pieces.
