About

For the first time in modern history, the colour and beauty of music written by Joannis de Lubin in the 16th century comes to life. Composed in the Golden Age of the First Polish Republic, the collection is the largest organ tablature in the world and one of the most important sources of European musical heritage. Andrzej Budzinska-Bennett and the Cracow Singers, delved deeply into the world of the Renaissance monk to faithfully recreate the composer's intentions. Their original performance practice, including the oldest organ in Europe, results in an incredible richness and surprising depth of expression of the polyphony and counterpoint, as well as timbral diversity, which were modern for those times.

The meticulous approach by these musicians and musicologists of international renown, based on archival sources and historical parameters, complete an important fragment of Polish and European music history.

Sophisticated multi-channel technology creates a spectacular sound image that reproduces the spatial distribution between the chorale choir at the front, the Gregorian chant in the choir loft and the organ in the rear gallery. The chuch space stretches out around the listener and the music unfolds with impressive transparency and striking naturalness.
