About
Soprano Melanie Adami initially left the pile of sheet music with songs by her great-grandfather Willy Heinz Muller (1900-1974) unattended.
Then in 2020 she found the time and was able to bring this musical treasure to life.
For this new recording, the songs and duets were supplemented by works by other composers (including Ernst von Dohnanyi) who had either made a great impression on him or with whom he had a personal relationship.
The Swiss soprano Melanie Adami gave her debut as Frasquita (Carmen) at the Lucerne Theater in 2002 and is accompanied on this recording by baritone Aneas Humm and pianist Judit Polgar.

Even more than a hundred years later, this collection of petitessen can still delight an appreciative audience, as the melodies are enchanting and the lyrics inspire dreams. They don't want to seem more than they are. In this lovingly crafted recording, they certainly develop a very specific charm, with Mélanie Adami extracting many intimate nuances from her great-grandfather's songs and baritone Äneas Humm endowing Franz Ries' songs with the necessary emphasis and fullness of sound. In the duets by Laszky, Hildach and Götze, the voices unite harmoniously. Judit Polgar, who plays the piano with great sensitivity, is the soul of this laudable endeavour.
