About

Reformed Church in Elberfeld in April 1854. Among his many admirers was none other than Robert Schumann. In Oberbarmen, not far from Van Eyken's later place of work in Elberfeld, the organ-building firm of Richard Ibach had its headquarters. Four years before Van Eyken's death, Ibach built the magnificent organ for Bergen op Zoom: a large early Romantic instrument on which Ute Gremmel-Geuchen brings out the best in the three great organ sonatas, among others.
