Jan/Feb 2023
The performance by the ensemble fully captures the spirit of Mondonville’s sacred music. Conductor Gaétan Jarry knows instinctively how the tempos are to be done, and the orchestra and chorus are clear and powerful. This is an excellent disc and well worth obtaining.

The choir sing with searing majesty or warm sensuality, as required. Jarry’s shapely direction yields engrossing interpretations of Mondonville’s imaginative and theatrically expressive grands motets.
