Supertrain Records is proud to present an all-new recording of towering proportions: Kaiju Crescendo: An Evening of Japanese Monster Music! This recording, which captures all of the explosive energy of a live concert that took place in Chicago during the summer of 2019, features thrilling musical selections from classic Japanese kaiju films by three of the genre's greatest composers, Akira Ifukube, Masaru Sato, and Michiru Oshima. In Part One of the recording, John DeSentis conducts original suites of Ifukube's earth-shattering music from Rodan (1956), The Mysterians (1957), and The Three Treasures (1959). Also included are suites from Masaru Sato's rollicking, pop-inspired scores from Son of Godzilla (1967) and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974). In Part Two, world-renown composer Michiru Oshima takes the podium to conduct brand-new suites from her very own awe-inspiring kaiju scores: Godzilla x Megaguirus (2000), Godzilla x Mechagodzilla (2002), and Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS (2003). Michiru also delivers a colossal performance of her world premiere composition, G in Chicago (C.H.C.A.G) (2019). Beware! Supertrain's Kaiju Crescendo begins its attack soon!
