Lee’s playing is sensitive and precise, with an excellent interpretation of the often complicated musical levels of these pieces. I am particularly impressed by his sense of ornamentation, which is never overt or disruptive to the lines, and his instrument has a nice, transparent sound, just the sort of thing to make these pieces both come alive and reflect the subtle intimate associations within.
