Awards and reviews

December 2021

It’s impossible not to be outraged by the context from which this chamber opera arises...The music is careful, perhaps even timid. It strikes me as well organized, correct, and neatly contained within a gently subdued modernism... The best passages are a deeply felt lullaby (‘My beautiful brown boy’) and an affecting final scene.
