The 'Adagio' (re)composed by Remo Giazotto had been enjoying huge popularity for ten years when Claudio Scimone and his chamber orchestra joined the Erato family and began to investigate the authentic Albinoni catalogue. In parallel with his Vivaldi recordings, the conductor set out his plans for an Albinoni cycle that would even include some of the composer's vocal works. Complemented by a valuable 'Conciclio de'pianeti' under Annibale Cetranglo's baton this box set comprises Scimone's complete Albinoni recordings, most of which have been remastered.
