The harp is rather associated with heavenly spheres. That it also has quite different sides becomes clear at the latest when listening to this CD. Already at the beginning of the 20th century Henriette Renie used the instrument for the musical realisation of E.A. Poe's short story 'Das verraterische Herz'. Julia Wacker presents this and two other pieces with harp based on stories by the American. Julia Wacker has been the principal harpist of the Basel Festival Orchestra since 2006, a permanent member of the Basel Sinfonietta since 2017 and plays regularly in orchestras such as the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, the Brandenburg State Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist she has played concerts with the Basel Symphony Orchestra, the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic and the Zurich Symphony Orchestra.
