Happy the young musician with a filmmaker for a friend. At least if the film-maker is as talented – yet apparently blessed with spare time – as Martin Mirabel...This is the kind of honesty that comes from talking not to a camera but a friend.

The result … is compelling. That this is Mirabel’s first feature film is remarkable; one wonders which other important musical figures he can illuminate?

Lucas Debargue is clearly a pianist with a bright future and one who visually also provides real enjoyment and entertainment.
