<p>With his second chamber music CD on NEOS featuring world premiere recordings, Michael Quell has once again provided a large variety of forms and instrumentations. In addition to the Freiburg-based Ensemble Aventure, this recording features four top-class guitarists who play microtonal guitars developed by Tolgahan Cogulu. Other guests include soprano Christine Simolka and conductor Hermann Beyer. <p>The works' titles betray the fact that Quell is intensely devoted not only to music, but to philosophy, theosophy, and the natural sciences. <p>Michael Quell was born in Fulda, Germany in 1960. He teaches at the Institute of Musicology at the Goethe University Frankfurt and is a guest lecturer at various universities. His works are performed regularly in Europe, the USA, Canada, South America, and Asia.
