About
With Joseph on the violin, Justine on the cello and Victor on the piano, Trio Metral won the first prize of the International Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna in 2017, one of the most prestigious awards they could ever hope for.
Trio Metral are a young promising ensemble made up of siblings. Their energy and sensitivity are equally breathtaking.
Concrete evidence of this talent is presented with their first album, in which they play Mendelssohn’s Piano Trios. The dark atmosphere of these two works progresses towards a luminous vitality. A dramatic architecture that the three musicians convey with an intensity that reflects an already strong artistic temper. Born of the imagination of a precocious composer, the programme perfectly fits the Trio Metral.

Whatever the strengths of the Trio Metral in Mendelssohn’s dynamic music, they come into their own in the slow movements. The Andante con molto tranquillo of the First Trio is perfumed and intimate, its exchanges beautifully managed. If the Scherzo is a touch studio- bound, the finale reclaims the drama of the opening.
