About
Presenting the World Premiere Recording of Georges Asperghis’ ‘Concerto pour accordion’, accordionist Teodoro Anzellotti is joined by the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks conducted by Emilio Pomárico.
These are live performances and comprise Volume 28 of Neos’ groundbreaking ‘Musica Viva’ series and the concerto is coupled with Six Etudes for large orchestra which was composed between 2014-2014. This is the fifth recording of Georges Aperghis’ music on Neos who was born in Athens in 1945 to an architect father and artist mother. He is largely self-taught: his interests were divided equally between painting (he was already exhibiting paintings at the age of 12) and music, which he explored for himself on the radio and in private piano lessons.
