For this new release from Leaf Records, some of the top classical musicians from the Canadian province of New Brunswick have come together to record a collection of pieces by Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827). The recording features works for string quartet, cello, and piano, including the beautiful String Quartet in F Major, H. 34. The Saint John String Quartet consists of violinists David Adams and Laurissa Chitty, violist Christopher Buckley, and cellist Sonja Adams. The group is just as likely to be costarring with Canadian pop favorites as it is to be performing the masterworks of Haydn or Beethoven. It’s this flexibility that makes them popular on stages in Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and the United States. The group has been performing together for more than three decades. Other featured musicians on this release include cellist Jae-Young Chong, pianist David Rogosin, and pianist Keol Woo.
