Juozas Gruodis (1884-1948) was one of the most eminent and original Lithuanian composers of the first half of the 20th Century. Gruodis’ musical career spanned almost five decades and Included, symphonic works, ballet scores, chamber music, works for solo piano and choral music.

Christopher Horner studied at the Royal Academy of Music and received coaching from British violinist Hugh Bean, who said of his student – “Christopher Horner is a very fine violinist whose violin playing evinces a serious musicianship and a well-founded technique which results in performances of intelligence and musical integrity”. John Lenehan needs no introduction, having recorded more than 70 CDs, covering a huge range of music. The partnership here brings great warmth and virtuosity and will certainly bring a little known composer to the attention of the wider music listening fraternity.
