All the composers on this disc are linked by a connection to the Paris Conservatoire. Roussel and Koechlin are familiar names. Pierre Camus, Rene-Emmanuel Baton, Philippe Gaubert, Melanie Bonis and Pierre Max Dubois, maybe only to experts on flute music.

This is a particularly French attribute, with all the music on this well recorded disc, displaying a wealth of tunes and melodic invention.

Francesca Arnone is a flautist with a secure technique and a tone to dream for. As with the Zina Schiff disc above, this is Francesca Arnone's second MSR Classics release and follows her Games of Light that featured music by Koechlin, Alwyn, Rozsa and Willner - MS1457.
