About
These four works, by perhaps the three most commanding figures in French music in the early part of the 20th century, were all composed within the space of eight years, and are among their composers’ definitive contributions to the chamber music genre. In their different ways, each has an autobiographical element, while transcending mere personal details to produce utterances that remain haunting in their universality.

November 2013
the obscurities melt away, such is the entente between the players and their understanding of Faure's elliptical syntax. Arnon Erez's clean piano-playing is a great help throughout, allowing us to hear the lines and not confusing the ear with any Impressionist mush.
25th July 2013
it is exceptionally well planned...[the Debussy] is beautifully phrased and balanced...Shaham, Wallfisch and Erez render the central Andantino [of the Fauré] with great sensitivity of tone and phrasing, while bringing strength and urgency to the more lively outer movements.
September 2014
Raphael Wallfisch and Hagai Shaham give elegant performances, each accompanied by Arnon Erez at the piano.
