The word which best sums up the musical work of María de Alvear is “energy”. Her work has an enormous theatrical and visual element and she develops her work across time and space, music and the stage. Equillibrio was conceived as part of a performance in dialogue with a video by the British video artist Isaac Julien, called the Tale of Yishen Island.
