The performances are excellent. I was particularly taken with John Anderson’s expressive, flexible phrasing and attractive tone – though that’s not to downplay either Jeanette Ager’s poised characterizations or Sophia Rahman’s ability to bring out the cheekiness in much of the piano-writing.
