About
These highly complex works command admiration with their power, the virtuosity of the writing and the sumptuousness of the sound. The engaging playing of Laurent Wagschal reflects the superb critical acclaim that he has been currently receiving. This CD will bring these much neglected works to the forefront.

Awards and reviews
February 2011
it is remarkable that Pierné's powerful and magnificent body of piano music is not more widely played...its difficulties hold no terror for Laurent Wagschal, clearly a superb pianist of great power and eloquence...Timpani's sound faithfully captures Wagschal's exceptional dynamic range and no praise could be high enough for this reminder of neglected geniuis.
