Using pieces and arrangements from the period 1510 – 1656, this release demonstrates the art of ornamentation. There were two types of ornamentation used during this period; diminuations and ostinati. The three musicians, all experts in this field of period music making, play with breathtaking clarity and precision and the accompanying booklet contains excellent notes by Saskia Coolen.
