About

Two Quebec music groups, one popular and traditional, one classical, dig into the sea-going past of their culture, and find common ground in songs of the 18th century. “La traverse miraculeuse” (“The Miraculous Crossing”) collects songs of the overwhelming dangers sailors and emigrants faced at sea: storms, huge seas, pirates, and English ships.
