Awards and reviews

December 2008

…the New College choristers supply expert delivery of the text as well a definition and clarity. Soprano Mhairi Lawson proves as unfailingly beautiful in tone as she is neat in execution. Tenor Rufus Müller deploys his light, bright tone with agility and a good sense of line, and David Stout's rich, dynamic bass aids his variety of expression.

April 2009

The New College Choir sings with eager attack and ample body of tone. …Higginbottom chooses his tempos shrewdly… and gets disciplined, colourful playing from his excellent modern-instrument orchestra. Doubling as Gabriel and Eve, Mhairi Lawson is the pick of the soloists, singing with fresh, unblemished tone, graceful phrasing and a crucial sense of joy.
