Special offer. Samuel Scheidt - Concertuum Sacrorum
and works by his contemporaries
Greta de Reyghere, Katelijne van Laethem, Agnès Mellon, Marie-Noëlle de Callatay (sopranos), Henri Ledroit (counter-tenor) & Max van Egmond, James Weaver (basses)
Ricercar Consort, La Fenice
A fine 1998 survey of Scheidt's grand 1622 collection on CD1 overshadows CD2's smaller pieces, mostly Schütz, in older, less polished recordings; but the handsome package is good value.
