But Barto's playing of Weiss' works has a special magic to it, although just what gives it this special quality is hard to define. It might have something to do with his excellent technique, his sensitivity to the music's nuances, his beautiful tone, or perhaps simply the fact that he feels a special affinity for this music and is able to communicate that to the listener. However he manages to do it, his interpretations grab the listener's attention and hold it from beginning to end.
