No. 7… is a beautiful and enlivening work, especially in Serebrier's sympathetic and vigorous performance… In No.4… Serebrier, helped by the more energised-sounding playing of the RSNO, probes deeper into the music and makes the score much more characterful and colourful than either of his rivals.

…Serebrier instantly conveys his love for this reassuringly warm brand of symphonism, as he conjures the Fourth Symphony's introduction from a spell of languorous daydreams. He then has the RSNO with him all the way in relishing the ebb and flow of tempo in Glazunov's subtly constructed first movement, and the catchy Scherzo receives an appropriately rollicking performance.
Serebrier gets very characterful and brilliant performances from the RSNO and his account of No.4 in particular has a good claim to be a first recommendation…
