John Powell

John Powell is an English film composer and music conductor. Based in Los Angeles, California since 1997, he has composed music for over 70 feature films, including Face/Off, the Bourne franchise, Happy Feet (and its sequel Happy Feet Two), United 93, X-Men: The Last Stand, Wicked (and its sequel Wicked: For Good), Evolution, Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, Migration, Drumline, Hancock, The Call of the Wild, Bolt, That Christmas, Thelma the Unicorn, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, eight Blue Sky Studios films, and ten DreamWorks Animation films.
Powell's work on Happy Feet, Ferdinand, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Wicked, and the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon have earned him six Grammy Award nominations. Additionally, he earned two Academy Award for Best Original Score nominations for the original How to Train Your Dragon and Wicked.
