Avishai Cohen (Double Bass)
Avishai Cohen is an Israeli jazz bassist, composer, singer and arranger. Growing up in Kibbutz Kabri, he began playing the piano at 9 years old but switched to the bass guitar at 14 after being inspired by Jaco Pastorius. He studied at the Music and Arts Academy in Jerusalem, focussing on acoustic double bass. His musical style blends sounds from Hebrew folk songs, contemporary jazz and numerous other cultures.
