Obituary, 2021 Goodbyes

Bernard HaitinkA short video-tribute to some of the artists and creatives who died in 2021, including conductors Bernard Haitink and Steuart Bedford, composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, opera director Graham Vick, pianist Nelson Freire, and singers Christa Ludwig, Edita Gruberová and Giuseppe Giacomini.

The music is Richard Strauss's Allerseelen (from Acht Gedichte aus 'Letzte Blätter'), recorded by Christa Ludwig and Gerald Moore in 1967.

Chris grew up in London and studied cello from the age of 5. He never did enough practice to get really good at it, but caught a passion for Classical music which would stick with him forever. He has wide ranging musical tastes, still plays Chamber music and particularly loves Mahler.
