Time hasn't dimmed the brilliant achievement of this unjustly forgotten group, putting instruments aside for searching, ravishing singing, their nine voices beautifully recorded.

About
Both masses are set for four voices; the Missa Faisant regretz is based on a secular song, as was often the practice at this time, influencing a mix of the secular and sacred in these masses. The masses themselves present a purity of sound and expression which is not too far from Gregorian chant.

Ingenious works and more to the point, very beautiful, particularly when sung with such dedication and feeling as here. This deserves the strongest recommendation to all with an interest in this period
