About
American cellist, Kim Cook, made this recording in Bulgaria. She has played across Europe, and recently held the position of principal cellist in the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra.
Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No. 1 and the Concerto in D minor by Lalo are not works to encounter very often in concerts, although familiar from recordings. They are bisected on this MSR Classics disc by Faure's haunting Elegy.
Heard in this order, Kim Cook's recording makes for a great French collection.
