Vocal, Choral, & Opera

Vocal Score

This vocal score is based on the Urtext of the Halle Handel Edition. In consideration of a complex source situation, the three surviving versions of the work that were performed during Handel’s lifetime are presented here for the first time. Alternative movements of the early version as well as of the version performed at the end of 1744 can be found in the appendix.

Rusalka is one of the most frequently performed works of the international opera scene. More than sixty years after the Jarmil Burghauser edition, a new critical edition is presented here that brings the musical text of the opera up to today’s standards.

Vocal score also available.

Available Format: Sheet Music

This edition adopts the interlude movements of the E-flat major version of Bach's Magnificat in a transposed form at the appropriate places. This allows a performance of the Magnificat in D major with interludes without time-consuming page-turning or the use of separate editions. In addition, the editor undertakes a new reconstruction of the movement Virga Jesse floruit, which survives only incompletely in the autograph.

A paean to the power of music, this work is one of the undoubted masterpieces of English choral odes of that time. With its richly expressive palette, the Ode to St. Cecilia is an extremely rewarding work. Festive, rousing ode to music; a highlight of the "choral ode" genre in the 17th century.

Vocal score also available.

Female Voices a cappella

This collection of Sechs Lieder contains six relatively different pieces that vary both in the language of their texts (Finnish and Swedish) and in length and number of voices. Nevertheless, they form a coherent and interesting set of moderate difficulty throughout, making Sibelius as a composer accessible to smaller female choirs and ensembles.

Tenor voice and piano

The third volume of OperAria Tenor contains a representative cross-section of the dramatic repertoire. On the opera stage, the tenor is often the most eminent protagonist. Whether as an ardent lover or a tragic hero, he is in the limelight to show lyrical sensitivity, sonorous euphony and smoothness, a maximum of nuances.
