Limited edition 3-panel CD digipak. 2 LPs on 1 CD 'Luiz Eca & Cordas' + 'Um Piano Na Madrugada', plus 4 bonus tracks.
Best known for his participation in the Tamba Trio, pianist, composer and arranger Luiz Eca (1936-1992) has accompanied groups and performers such as the Quarteto Em Cy, Edu Lobo and Sylvia Telles. His song, "The Dolphin," is considered a jazz standard and has been recorded by Stan Getz, Bill Evans, and Denny Zeitlin. The main album on this release, Luiz Eca & Cordas, is a symphonic jazz LP with occasional Bossa Nova colourings. Luiz Eca, on the piano, is accompanied by Bebeto (double bass), Ohanna (drums) and Neco (acoustic guitar), and by a heavily string-centric orchestra. Also included here is Eca's 1956 debut LP, Um Piano na Madrugada, and four amazing Eca duets with trombonist Astor Silva.
