Frank Peter Zimmermann is one of the Berliner Philharmoniker’s long- standing companions. His performances form a common thread between generations of musicians – hardly any of the conductors who have shaped the orchestra over the years have not worked with this exceptional violinist. This exclusive edition now presents four outstanding snapshots of this intense musical friendship, with Bartók’s two violin concertos and the solitaires by Beethoven and Berg. In addition to the recordings on two CDs and a Blu-ray, the high- quality hardcover edition contains an extensive booklet with essays, introductions and numerous photos. The design is by the artist Jorinde Voigt.
