This release follows Baltakas's successful KAIROS debut of 2016. The ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a snake or dragon swallowing its own tail, constantly creating itself and forming a circle. It often represents self-reflection or cyclicality. The album represents Baltakas' works for ensemble, which are based on recycled, reused or 'found' musical material. With performers including Rita Balta, the Klangforum Wien and Johannes Kalitzke, Baltakas has strong advocates for his work.
