Paul Dombrecht, Marcel Ponseele, Ku Ebbinge, Danny Bond Chiara Banchini, Richard van der Meer, Robert Kohnen… all pivotal figures in the early music revival of the 1980s, and all taking part in one of the indispensable discs (and there were still LPs in those days…) then being released on the Accent label. Now re-emerging on Glossa Cabinet, it will undoubtedly bring pleasure to all those who consider – as we do – that Zelenka is one of the great Baroque composers.

the star soloist here is Paul Dombrecht...Marcel Ponseele and Ku Ebbinge prove distinguished oboists to share burdens of solo responsibility in the two-oboe sonatas. Bassoonist Danny Bond is hugely personable and dextrous, and the addition of violinist Chiara Banchini, cellist Richte van der Meer and harpsichordist Robert Kohnen ensures aerated textures.
