The initial aim of this composition was to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Notre-Dame de la Chapelle parish, one of the most important Gothic churches in Brussels, but to present it in a more modern way. A great deal of research has gone into studying the original manuscripts, which includes the full series of antiphons and hymns associated with the municipal library of Cambrai. The result is a spellbinding performance of great gravitas, beautifully performed by Ensemble Psallentes and with a modern twist.
