Louis Lortie (Piano)

Louis Lortie was born in Montreal, but now divides his time between his home city, Paris and Berlin. His teachers have included Yvonne Hubert in Montreal, Beethoven specialist Dieter Weber in Vienna, and Leon Fleisher in the USA.
In 1984, he was prizewinner at the Leeds International Piano Competition, and was also unanimously awarded first prize at the Busoni competition in Italy. Since then he has performed with many of the world’s top orchestras, and gives regular recitals at both the Wigmore Hall and the South Bank Centre.
