Coming Soon, Alessandrini records Monteverdi's Vespers

Alessandrini records Monteverdi's VespersRinaldo Alessandrini is a veteran of historically-informed, well-researched performances. 2014 has been a big year for him, with three recordings already out (listed below) – and he must be a man with a mission, as we've now heard that a fourth is on the way! He's tackling one of the cornerstones of Renaissance repertoire, Monteverdi's mighty Vespers of 1610, and it's set for release on August 25th.

Recent recordings by Rinaldo Alessandrini:

Among the very first operas (for some people, the first 'true' opera of all), Caccini's Euridice is a setting of the immortal tragedy of Orpheus and was first performed in October 1600 in Florence. Alessandrini's formidable scholarly expertise was invaluable in bringing this work back to life after more than four centuries.

Available Formats: MP3, FLAC

Vivaldi's concerti grossi for strings represent an interesting example of his inventive concerto style - there are no soloists here, so the virtuosity and musical colour are distributed across the whole ensemble. This is the second volume of concertos for strings from Rinaldo Alessandrini and the Concerto Italiano.

Available Formats: MP3, FLAC, Hi-Res FLAC
