Fairfield Fanfare by Roxanna Panufnik is a contemporary work for Orchestra commissioned by Fairfield Hall in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Therefore the opening chords are based on all the alphabetic note names from FA-ir-F(♯)-i-E-l-D, heralding a flourishing section of hustle and bustle that is the town of Croydon today. Fairfield Fanfare was first performed on 2 November 2012 at Fairfield Hall, Croydon, Surrey by the London Mozart Players conducted by Hilary Davan Wetton.
