Leon Gurvitch (*1979) writes and plays music that is rooted in classical music and incorporates influences from Russian folklore, oriental and Latin American music along with jazz and klezmer. The album Poetic Whispers brings together six piano pieces that combine poetic melancholy and virtuosic drive at different levels of difficulty. They are aimed at both the ambitious amateur pianist and the professional who knows no musical boundaries. Keith Jarrett and Igor Stravinsky are the forces behind the music by the cosmopolitan Leon Gurvitch who was born in the Belarusian city of Minsk.
