Written in December 1951, the work exists in the form of a facsimile of an autograph manuscript, incorporated into a drawing by the painter Richard Chanlaire, this drawing itself the motif of a scarf (or silk square) created by the haute couture designer Pierre Balmain. Admittedly modest in size, this Valse is a work full of charm.
